    Coding, the process of giving a digital device an instruction or set of instructions to complete an operation, is a language of the future.

    As part of British Science Week, the Programming for Primaries event is trying to get schools to do more to get their pupils enjoying coding, and is spreading the message that Year 8 is too late to get engaged in coding.

    At the Stephen Perse Foundation, we are coding on a daily basis from the age of three and in all elements of school life – from maths to history and everything in between.

    Year 5 pupils arrived at school on Thursday 23 February, looking as though they had stepped straight out of the Tudor era. It was a windy morning so the Tudor ladies had to hold onto their bonnets as they boarded the coaches!

  • Mission to the moon! Year 4 collaborative project

    On Tuesday 21 February sixteen teams, consisting of Year 4 pupils from both the Junior School and Dame Bradbury’s, competed for consideration as astronauts on a forthcoming mission to the moon. Each activity was designed to prepare them for the mission and earned them points towards a final score, which would determine whether they had what it takes to be a space shuttle crew.

  • IAPS Netball

    On Thursday 2nd March 2017 Dame Bradbury's competed at the U11 IAPS Regional Netball tournament hosted by Felsted School. In the first group stage the team performed brilliantly recording 6 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss to take 2nd place in the group and progress to the first play off round.

    In this round they faced strong opponents and after equalising in the last few seconds the girls went on to win this match with a golden goal. This win meant the team progressed into a group to play for 5th to 8th place in the tournament. Dame B’s recorded 1 win and 2 defeats at this stage meaning the team finished in a superb 7th place overall out of 38 team and frustratingly just one position away from qualifying for the national finals. A superb effort by all of the girls.

    A fantastic day was had on Friday with pupils raising money for Malim's chosen charity the RNLI. With pupils all wearing red, white or blue to represent the colours of the RNLI flag, a variety of activities took place during break and lunch times to raise money for this great charity.
