  • Stephen Perse Guild

The Stephen Perse Guild is the alumni and former staff association for Stephen Perse Schools.

The Guild was founded in 1903 as the Old Perseans Guild and updated its name to reflect the contemporary school in 2009. Guild membership provides our alumni and former staff with easy access to a supportive, friendly and useful network of friends and contacts throughout their lives.

Guild members are invited to attend events each year and receive updates. They are ambassadors for Stephen Perse values and support one another in many ways, including volunteering for Careers and Guidance events and activities and making gifts, or leaving legacies. Gifts and legacies support bursaries, scholarships and outreach programmes and have a lasting and positive impact on our current and future generations of students. Further details can be found on the Support Us page.

    Notable Guild Members

Our alumni have gone on to extraordinary things. From the first woman to pilot an aircraft around the world, to winning Olympic gold medals and Grammy awards, to leading GCHQ and working on NASA missions - we have the most incredible, inspiring alumni.

    Guild Reunions

We hold annual reunions for our Guild members, where you can catch up and reconnect with old friends.

Our most recent event was our 145th celebration, which was the climax of our Guild giving week, which raised a record-breaking £134,231 for our Guild Opportunities Fund. The fund removes socio-economic barriers and supports children and young people in accessing the full benefits of a Stephen Perse Cambridge education.

The reunion is a wonderful occasion, with sports matches pitting Guild members against our current students, music, tours, and art and archive exhibitions.

Pictured here is Veronica, who left the Perse School For Girls Sixth Form 75 years ago, enjoying a game of ping pong with our current students!

    Alumni Group Number

First introduced in 1923, each year the students who graduate are allocated an Alumni Group Number. In order to calculate your Alumni Group Number there is a (relatively!) simple formula:

    • if you completed Sixth Form in 1999 or earlier, please deduct 22 from the last two digits of your graduating year. Thus 1999 = Alumni Group 77; or
    • If you completed Sixth Form in 2000 or later, please add 78 to the last two digits of your graduating year. So, 2010 becomes Alumni Group 88 and so on…

If you left before Sixth Form, you will still be allocated to the Alumni Group that relates to your Year 13 or Upper 6 year completion.
