Year 7 student Abbey claims her black belt in Tang Soo Do after intense day of grading.

Over the weekend, Abbey H in Year 7 achieved her black belt in Tang Soo Do, after being determined to participate in the grading despite having a horrendous sore throat. The grading for her black belt included an intense day of activities. She had to produce a written dissertation, and then followed it up with 6 hours non-stop of Tang Soo Do. These six hours involved doing 175 sit-ups, 200 press ups, 140 burpees, 130 star jumps and nearly 2,000 punches, as well as numerous squats, kicks and routines. Abbey also had to take part in five sparring sessions, including fighting 2 or 3 other black belts at a time.

As well as now being a black belt in Tang Soo Do, Abbey is also part of the county U13 hockey squad and the county U13 cricket squad. All of these are incredible achievements and we wish Abbey success in her continuing sporting endeavours.
