This summer Zara continued her successful swimming season with a stunning performance in the Scottish National Swimming Championships.
On the back of her excellent season in the pool, Zara qualified for 8 events at the Scottish Nationals and decided to compete in 5 of those events at the finals. She took home the gold in the demanding 400m individual medley, and silver in the 100m butterfly.
She only just missed out on the medals in a further two events, the 200m individual medley and the 200m breaststroke finishing 4th in both, as well as a 7th place finish in the 100m breaststroke.
To finish the season, Zara competed in the 200m butterfly event at the British National Championship, placing 19th. Just reaching this level of competition is a tremendous achievement, although this wasn't the result that she wanted on the day.
We can't wait to see further success from Zara in the pool, and wish her all the best for the season ahead.
